Great fear has engulfed Opposition political parties in the country ahead of the May 20 Tripartite elections amidst speculation that government intends to use Zimbabwean citizens to vote using the country’s voter registration cards which the People’s Party government is alleged to have bought from Malawians.

Apparently, there have been reports indicating that some people suspected to be People’s Party officials were going around the country offering people money or a bag of maize in exchange for the voter registration card, a claim the ruling Party denies.

But information reaching this blogger suggests that over 840 thousand voter registration cards have so far been bought and are currently in PP’s hands.

Highly placed sources within People’s Party have confided in this blogger that the ruling Party intends to ferry people from Zimbabwe into the country so they can vote using these bought MEC cards.

The officials says PP has targeted Mulanje, Thyolo, Mwanza and Blantyre Rural in the southern region; Ntchisi, Dowa, Kasungu, Mchinji and Lilongwe in the central region and Mzuzu City in the North.

These are districts being purportedly Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and Malawi Congress Party (MCP), respectively.

This blogger understands meeting upon meeting on the same are taking place day and night.

Meanwhile, the People’s Party led government has intensified buying of voter registration card in Mchinji and Mzuzu City to meet a target of one million voter registration cards.

However, Opposition Parties in the country have vowed to deal accordingly with any foreigner suspected to be taking part in the conspiracy.

They have since deployed private security in all borders across the country to monitor any suspicious people crossing into Malawi in large numbers from the 15th to the 19th this month.
